Carlos Quijada

Carlos Quijada earned his masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University, and his masters of Divinity from Regent University.  Mr Quijada is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas and New Jersey, and a National Certified Counselor.  He is currently an online therapist with Charlandra Counseling Services, an adjunct professor at Nyack College, an associate pastor at Last Chance Ministries and Director of Latin Affairs for Legacy Minded Men ministry.  His recent publications include: “Reflections on our role as counselors working with a diverse society” and “An Embryo Named Jesus”.  Mr Quijada offers a unique perspective to counseling that integrates faith and clinical interventions leading to effective outcomes. 

After earning her doctorate in counselor education and supervision from Montclair State University, Dr. Anna joined the Alliance Graduate School of Counseling as the director of clinical internship.  After three years in this position, Dr Anna became the core faculty for the online students of the mental health counseling program, which is her role at this time.  During her tenure at Nyack College, Dr. Anna has published one textbook, and three professional journal articles to inform counselor education. Her research interests are: professional identity development, critical race theory, infertility, and how spirituality has been impacted by COVID-19.  

Additionally, in the area of service and leadership, Dr. Anna is the past-president of the Counselors for Social Justice (CSJ) division of the American Counseling Association (ACA).  She is also on the Diversity and Inclusion committee for the Association for Counselor Educators and Supervisors.  Dr. Anna was given the prestigious education award from the New York League of Puerto Rican for her positive contributions to the Latino communities of New York City.  She was also recognized by Negocios Now as an accomplished professional during their 40 under 40 event. Dr. Anna owns Charlandra Counseling Services, where they specialize in helping people with infertility challenges, post-partum concerns, and depression and anxiety. She prides herself on being able to collaborate and motivate others to be social change agents.
